About the Event

The PROGRESS Project is pleased to announce a regional training webinar “Strengthening the Capacity of Fruit and Berry Producers in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) to Access the EU Market”, taking place on 23–24 June 2026. This two-day online event brings together EU experts, national food safety authorities, as well as fruit and berry producers and value chain actors from across the EaP region to build practical knowledge on EU mandatory import requirements for fresh fruits and berries, in line with EU Green Deal priorities.

Objectives of the Meeting

The training aims to strengthen the capacity of EaP fruit and berry producers to access the EU market. Participants will:

  • Understand the key mandatory EU import requirements for fresh fruits and berries, including Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) standards, Maximum Residue Level (MRL) controls, as well as food hygiene, traceability, labelling, and marketing requirements, and how to comply with them.
  • Explore how meeting the EU mandatory import requirements can support climate adaptation in agriculture and contribute to the adoption of climate-smart farming practices.
  • Promote dialogue among the actors across the EaP fruit and berry value chains.
